"the valley of the shadow of death"
Tonight this phrase holds a new meaning for me..shadow of death..a shadow means it’s not the real thing..it’s not death. Reminds me of these verses..
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:8, 9 NIV)
We are walking in the shadow of death but will not die!
And omgoodness I just thought of this - a shadow is formed when THERE IS LIGHT. GOD IS IN THE VALLEY WITH US. When it says “You are with me” it doesn’t just mean “You’re watching over me from high above”. Nope. God is there.
Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4 AMP)
"grace pulls us closer". Thank You God!
"Her heart is an intricate design. And it’s fragile. Yet it has the strength to forgive even if you’ve broken it a million times. Always remember that you’re in possession of one of the most vulnerable yet powerful things on earth. Treasure it with your life."
"Ever sat on an emotional roller coaster before? It goes like this..happy, sad, angry, disappointed then guilt, at peace, and then suddenly, moved to tears at half past 3 in the morning. It’s crazy. And it’s not because I watched any drama. My life is dramatic as it is. But would I have it any other way? No. It’s a blessing to be in the present moment, to feel every moment: every emotion in its entirety."
I was suddenly stricken, browsing though my Tumblr feed, to see this picture. What struck me was the honest truth that you have to see the full picture before you can even start. We, the Christians, often times see ourselves as the small bear here. Our focus isn’t usually on God, the big bear, we are on outward things. When we do look at ourselves, we see us as small and unable. The funny thing is, Satan is always looking at the big picture. He always sees God behind us. Yes, he can take us out, but there is always that Father behind us looking bigger and more formidable every second. Change your focus to your Father, take it off of the world and the distractions of Satan. If you do that, God will work through you and give you His power. Satan always sees the Father standing behind us.

"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself."
